Initiated in 2007, Earth Hour is a call to the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) for a global mobilization: it is to plunge the earth in the dark during 1h, 20h30 to 21h30 , to participate symbolically in the fight for the defense of the environment and against global warming. In 2011, UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon welcomed Earth Hour’s “use of these 60 minutes of darkness to help the world see the light.”
For the 10th edition in 2016, 172 countries participated in Earth Hour, and Montenegro is among them.
